Danny Greenwald, me and about 90 new friends watched Bob Mould rip off
80 minutes of incredible live music at Los Angeles' Hotel Cafe on March 2,
2009. He played some old classics from Workbook, a couple of Husker Du
songs, some stuff from Sugar and even a few songs off the soon-to-be
released album, Life & Times. It was a great, intimate show with some serious acoustic (and electric) guitar playing on Mould's part. He even had friend Stephen Trask, famous for the musical film Hedwig and the Angry Inch, come up and play an encore of Husker Du's "Makes No Sense at All"
I managed to get a rudimentary recording of the whole show using my iPhone 3G and the iTunes App Store's Recorder, The App
Here's the setlist with linked MP3 files that i cleaned up
Bob Mould, live at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, California Monday, March 2, 2009
01- Wishing Well
08- I'm Sorry Baby, but You Can't Stand in My Light Anymore
15- Makes No Sense At All (with Stephen Trask)
I apologize for the poor sound quality - the Recorder does 8kHz WAV and the room was about 60 x 80ft. Needless to say, Bob got rocking on the amplified acoustic and, while i tried to clean up the audio, there is some high end clipping...
Thanks again, Bob Mould, Ray Neades, Danny & Ginger for putting me up and coming along and my handy iPhone for recording (albeit moderate to poorly) the photo and audio!
