The ongoing adventures of Steve & Carrie Butcher

While Carrie & I were raised on farms in Tennessee and Michigan, we have both managed to get out and about quite a bit.

I went to college in Boston, moved back to Michigan for a summer 4 years later, then back to Boston. While based out of Boston, I held many hotel suites and an apartment in San Francisco, travelled to London a few times, Atlanta more than that, as well as LA, Louisville, Chicago, New York and D.C. just to name a few. For Lent of the new millenium (2000), his morals forced him out of his company in Boston and launched VickeryHill.com with the well-followed weblog travel trip, SmartBeetle.com

Carrie spent 4 years in college at Washington & Lee, then moved to Atlanta, then Lodz, Poland, back to Atlanta, Boston, then Vermont – where before moving in fulltime, Steve asked her to be his wife. A year later, on October 24, 2020, with 38 family and friends in attendance, we were married on St. John in the US Virgin Islands
